Lack of Appetite for Boosters in Ontario
Good news! Even 70+ Ontarians are cluing in. Time for some repressions...
“Ontario’s top doctor urges mask wearing, warns mandate could return“ (MSN, 2022.10.13):
In an interview with Global News, Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario's medical officer of health, urged people to get vaccines, boosters and wear a mask to avoid an unmanageable surge in hospital admissions.
He said the rate of uptake for fourth doses by Ontarians aged 70 and older -- around 16 per cent -- was "not acceptable" and said public health measures like mandatory masking could return "if necessary."
I.e., only one in six of the 70+ Ontarians stepped up to do the right thing and roll over. No moh fear of “zie Weirus”?! What an audacity! Time to whip Ontarians into compliance:
While a return to mandatory masking is not yet being recommended, Moore called on people to consider wearing masks indoors as cases rise and said he would not hesitate to recommend a stronger measure if necessary.
Or else they can blame themselves for what will have befallen them. Don’t bite the hand that jabs you?
Have any safety data on these new jabs that you want your people injected with? No?
By the way, the same sentiment is running deep in the States. “The US's estimate for uptake of the new covid booster was off by more than 90%” (qz.com, 2022.10.11):
…more than a month into the booster deployment …according to the latest data shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only 11.5 million eligible people have received an updated booster. That is less than 5% of the 240 million people who qualify, and only around 7% of doses made available by the government.
By way of comparison, when the first booster was made available to the broader population of adults in November 2021, it was administered to more than 30 million people in the first month. Before then, 40 million people who were over 65 or at risk of severe covid had already gotten their booster, for which they had qualified starting in August.
We overheard some 70 and 80 years discussing how they are waiting to get their fourth jab, so they can get a better newer one ??? So maybe scaring them all over again will work? My 86 year old mom has always refused flu shots and definitely refused this one. She started out in a care home but we managed to set her back up in her own home in June 2020 . Even with homecare and government homecare and family coming in several times a day, she has never been sick except for sniffles! She is one tough lady even with dementia and paralysis from a stroke!!
Weird how uptake craters when you don't threaten livelihoods. Sadly, this means they'll probably just try to do another mandate for the 'new' jab.
