Ontario Closely Watching Its Sewage
And, going on July soon, it's not looking too enticing.
The After Ontarians, estimated to be 14.8 million in number, have been exceedingly compliant and cooperative in terms of accepting being fully-jabbed (91% of eligible 5+, or 86% otherwise), and boosted once or twice (57% of eligible 5+, 50% otherwise),
they expect the returns comensurate with the sacrifices (you have a risk going into a dangerous situation, you have sacrifices after you’ve accepted the risk) they’ve accepted to gain the “robust protection” from the awful Covid. Here’s what the government has to show for it:
One bit from Duclos the Minister of Health has been that “We’ve done extremely well in Canada up till now, […] in the five first months of this year we had as many [Covid] deaths and hospitalizations as in the entire year of 2021”, that most likely applies to Ontario. After all the jabbing and boosting. If that isn’t a proof of a successful jabbing campaign, I don’t know what is:
Another encouraging piece of evidence is the wastewater testing showing a new Covid infection wave gathering momentum in Ontario, from the ever-higher trough than the previous waves:
At the height of the Omicron wave in March - early April, Ontario epidemiologists estimated 100,000 to120,000 new cases daily:
Just to remind everyone, the Covid-19 disease is a respiratory flu disease, subject to strong seasonality, on the account of vitamin D levels being replenished in the population and fresher air in the lungs. Well, at least that was in the case of any previous flu disease. But now that we are “fully protected”, for the most part, we have the luxury of being down with a flu any time we want, really. Isn’t it great!
