I always assume their numbers are 100% untrustworthy. Thank you for laying it out and explaining it to those of us who aren't "data savvy".

As Bismark once said, "You don't want to know how two things are made: sausages and politics". We can safely add Covid statistics to this short list, and it will be the winner hands down in this ugliness contest.

Thanks for delving into this. The denominator issue might seem as minor compared to other stuff going on, but actually it has huge bearing on the rates they paint for us. Opened my eyes, thanks again!

Those reporting these statistics are members of the same organization that is creating the policies. (Ontario government). They have an obvious conflict of interest. The news media never reports this conflict of interest.

On a side note just heard my old colleague is in the hospital after his boosterโ€ฆOntario nonetheless! (Thatโ€™s three dead, two hospitalized and a couple getting blood work done coz theyโ€™re feeling โ€œstrokishโ€โ€ฆ.all in one month)

As of today (Apr 14) I don't see the plateau - it's steadily going up every day - today the infection rate per 100,000 (7 day average) is Boosted 29.16, Fully vaxxed 17.44, unvaxxed 15.54. The hospital rate is Fully Vaxxed 899, Unvaxxed 205 (raw numbers, not per 100,000)
