I crossed overland last Sunday, from US to Canada. I did not consent to provide any additional information, beyond my passport. I was held over 2 hours. Border security suggested bringing the police and also provided the option of escorting me to a Federal quarantine facility.

“My passport is the only document and information I need to provide to enter my country”. Repeat often.

I also stated several times that I was healthy and had no symptoms of illness.

Interestingly, no official asked me about my health.

When I spoke with a quarantine officer on the phone, I cited section 4 of the quarantine act, which states a certificate is granted by the minister to a screening agent, other than a border official, and must be provided to the individual being questioned. The quarantine officer flat out refused, and said I had to answer her questions first, and she did not need the quarantine act.

After much back and forth regarding the law - I brought my highlighted copy of the Act. It ended with me questioning whether sec 58 applied, since I had no communicable disease, I stated they should make the arrangements to take me to their facility.

I left 5 minutes later, 2 test kits in hand and a flyer indicating my 1 time exemption from quarantine and withholding use of arrivecan.

I present this story as an act of civil disobedience to those I know who are vaxxed. I make it about not wanting to use the internet etc to enter my country. Leave out the health piece and people are against this surveillance nonsense.

Peace to you all!

This is so incomprehensible to someone who was a kid in the '60s and witnessed the flight to Canada for the freedom not to engage in the Vietnam war. I always had this image of Canada as just about the most free country in the world.

Canada has now become both grotesque and conquered.

So much of the whole program depends on voluntary compliance with unlawful orders, and the behavior policing of ordinary people against other ordinary people, without the direct involvement of uniformed government employees.

It’s an open question of what the next steps, by the governments, will be if a critical mass stops doing the voluntary compliance and ignores the lateral social pressure.

At least in the US, there are laws on the books to authorize involuntary, armed apprehension, detention and medical treatment of non-compliant people, domestically across state borders and within individual states, and at international borders.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/42/70.5 (international travelers)

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/42/70.6 (domestic)

Both under 42 U.S.C. 264, 265

But they haven’t used those provisions yet, because they haven’t had to.

Although they have already prepared some drafts of the HHS orders that would trigger such apprehensions and detentions. One from Feb. 13, 2020:

Variation in level of totalitarian measures in Five Eyes countries is largely due to different levels of acceptance of totalitarianism by population of those countries. It turns out the US population is more problematic than those of Canada, Australia, New Zealand,...

Guess “Give Me Liberty of Hive Me Death” has no meaning anymore. Don’t see why it would be that much different in the USA. How people think they’re going to react is always different than the reality. We’ll see but I wonder if the US even has adequate law enforcement to oversee this. Still have a very long hot summer to get through and this has been going on already for a long time. Was surprising that almost no one stirred up a fuss after 9/11 - like cattle in submitting to the scanning and searches at airports worldwide. That was the precursor.

I can't believe this is happening in Canada. NO country in the West is behaving so criminally and idiotically.

The ArriveCan app has nothing to do with public health and everything to do with control and ulterior motives they're not being honest about.

My question is this. It seems you're saying all this is smoke and mirrors. Though they can 'enforce' some measures, they really can't do much more.

But. If you refuse the Arrive Can app or don't quarantine you and they issue fines, what happens to the fines if you contest them? Any chance they get thrown out given the government is acting illegally?

Speaking of legal, what does it matter anymore? The provinces and Ottawa have operated outside the law for two years and no one did anything to stop it. Not the citizens. Not the politicians. And not the courts. In fact, the courts can't be counted on to stop this and do their damn jobs and enforce the Charter. In fact, they're finding ways to justify the government's actions.

Where in the USA the wheels of justice are slowly beginning to side with the people, here we're seeing the opposite.

I have no idea how we can stop this. The app was supposed to be 'temporary' (yeh right) and now we know the Liberals are trying to make this permanent and will be able to do it because of the NDP and Bloc Quebecois who are every bit complicit in this massive crime that has no basis in science or logic and does nothing for public health. All politics.

My sister in law who is in Ontario Canada recently asked if they could expect a visit from me in the near future.

I tend to unhinge on people who try to force me to do shit that's unconstitutional.. and I will under no circumstances get vaxxed or agree to quarantine.

So. No. I won't be headed for Canada.

Great research, thanks Andreas. I lived in Canada in the 80s but won’t go back now, in part to avoid hassles by the US immigration authorities.

I heard from a Kiwi that they have largely prevented them from returning to NZ. A lot of them have lost their pensions, being gone for 20 years even though they planned to return in time.

The trucker protest only affected those participating. Resist! Now this border nonsense affects a few more people. Resist! Come on Canada. We need to be prepared to lose what we have, and it's not easy. The truckers had their bank accounts frozen and their truck insurance threatened. This is the type of history where the heroes turned out to be those who were willing to lose what they had to compact tyranny and hold true to their principles and freedom.

As an American living 60 miles from the Canadian border I see the Berlin Wall. The US is just as bad with its common cold shot mandates for non-citizens. The people will rise up on both sides of this wall. It happened in Berlin and it will happen here.

You need to be vaccinated to enter NZ. Kiwis exempt. You have to fill out online declaration before travelling with lots of personal details. You are given 2 RAT test kits on arrival and test on day one and day 6.Results must be uploaded . You must isolate if you test positive. Not sure of penalties if you don't report.

The daughter of a friend recently travelled to Europe from Vancouver. The lady is uninjected, so, technically, she couldn’t fly from Canada. But she happens to be also an American citizen. So, she crosses the border hassle-free, hops on a plane at Sea-Tac, spends two weeks touring. She came back directly to Canada. She reports no major issues here (well, she followed the unlawful “laws”...) and is doing her house arrest time...

I am one of those who have not travelled the last 2 years and have not seen family. But technology helps a bit.
